(In the Christmas Afterglow. Thanks for scanning & deleting) I.F. Stone, Newspaper Publisher & Editor said, "Some people become radical out of hatred. Others become radical out of love and sympathy. I come out of the second class. I have hated very few people... I have faith, despite the imperfections of the human race, that a better society, a better world, a more just world, a kindlier world can come into being....(I feel the same way.) So Caleb says: "I question whether in Life "I have ever had it so good... while so much of the world's people's are in sadness& despair for their losses this past year",...The floods & wars.. "LIFE FOR ME HAS SEEN LITTLE CHANGE (except in aging).... My San Diego Family do the most precious things... The Family Pew at Sue's Church, Christmas Eve...(Skipped the Jacuzzi & Carols a custom for many years,)... Christmas morning: The Great Music playing as we all felt the "serendipity" of finding & opening our gift's around a beautifully trimmed Tree...Never has Susan's & Ron's house been more…beautiful after the remodeling, ..."Santa" (Susan) as well as the grandsons, wrote rhyming clues for each person to find their gifts around the home...like this one for me: So, Caleb you are a good man As you’ve been in your life span' Go where clothes you might wash, although it's now posh... there's your gift-- Now that is the Plan. In the washroom was a Magnifying electrical lamp for a gift. The second poem (by Jim) said: "There's two of these downstairs.& one is quite hot, You might think the bathroom, but we'll tell you it's not. If we hid your gift in one, it would be burned up & charred, Fortunately. This one's cool, can you find it? Is this hard...You won't need yours more fixins’, because this one is not on, You'll have to think to find your gift your brain must be spot on... In the laundry room was a Canon Digital "PowerShot" (the best & most complete from Japan.! It was an "electrical" amazing Christmas. CDs, puzzles, blown-up colored Family pictures: bulging socks full of toiletry items, & Tangerines, Oranges, avocados… (from their trees!) New books by President Carter, etc… Colorful new Jackets & shirts... My! What a ritual of Joy! Like so many I've had here in San Diego...Locks & Babels with drinks and eggs between Gift Openings. I Miss Carol so much… for I've had Great fun; this has been denied her these past three years...Like a walk along the La Jolla Beach in the sand ,while the Turkey cooked..(a tradition for over 15 years). My Logo shows us at the Beach four years ago... I rejoice in beautiful & memorable traditions, LIFE FOR ME IS WONDERFUL! SQUEEZE EVERY DAY BY TOUCHNG AND BLESSING OTHERS…REALLY: "NOTHING LIKE US EVER WAS" CALEB....2005
