As I open Carol’s 2nd “Trip Abroad” Diary, I want to say to you “How thankful I am for her organized life.” Every day of her life, it seemed to me, she wrote herself notes . She was almost ‘perfectionistic” and she was scrupulously honest.

She didn’t hedge. She was a kind of “just the facts” gal. When I criticized her, she would always say:” You knew what kind of person I was...” I am grateful that she did bend a great deal...to make me a happy man. I’m sure she adjusted more than me. She believed people don’t change. Both of us were born in April, under the Aries sign. People, and our dearest friends, marveled at our unique marriage. Of course you know we had good glue with Christ as our 3rd Partner...We held hands in prayer many time and always at mealtimes....words were not always used. We never went to bed angry. Her eyes told me so much. 68 years of challenging partnership. Her talents, gifts & spirit augmented mine nearly “perfectly’. Carol never like my use of the word; & corrected me constantly...but I was very happy in my partnership.
